Sensei Oscar Leger


Oscar Leger began to practice and study Karate in 1971. In 2007, he attained the prestigious rank of 7th Degree Black Belt under O'Sensei Masami Tsuruoka, 10th Degree Black Belt and known as the "Father of Canadian Karate" for having brought the sport to Canada from Japan many years ago.

Sensei Leger has also received the National Karate Association 5th Degree Certification, which is recognized by Sport Canada and the Canadian Olympic Committee. In addition, he has completed the National Coaching Certification Program Level I and Level II.

Sensei Leger has been practising and teaching Karate in Moncton and the surrounding area since 1971. A successful Realtor since 1987, he works with Remax and lives with his family in Moncton, NB.

After having taught at a local Karate school for many years, Sensei Leger decided to open a Tsuruoka Karate School in January 2001. Sensei Leger's goal is to return to the source
of Karate expertise and training in Canada.

A close working relationship with O'Sensei Masami Tsuruoka ensures that the Oscar Leger School of Karate offers students the latest and most progressive Tsuruoka Karate techniques and principles available in Canada.

The Oscar Leger School of Karate is the only Tsuruoka sanctioned karate school operating in Moncton, NB.
